Some of My Favorite Places on the Web

    MY PUBLISHERS
  • Twilight Times Publications

  • Double Dragon Publishing

  • Zumaya Publications

      WEBZINES
  • MEviews
Lisa DuMond has read more books in the last few years than I've read in my entire life and my past three as well. She not only reads them, but reviews them. Lisa is the kind of woman who will boldly go where no reviewer has gone before. If you don't believe me, just click here.

  • Twilight Times
Now that Twilight Times has finally made its debut, I can finally comment on it. Wow! Great fiction, great art, great concept. And since I'm the featured author in the first issue, what else can I say but read it.

  • E2K
One of the finest literary ezines on the Internet, featuring poetry, articles on writing, fiction and essays. E2K is the magazine of Net Author and has been listed as one of the top 25 places to get published on the Net in Writer's Digest.

  • Quantum Muse
A good place for online fiction. I even met the blokes who ran it, at a convention in Dallas. Since I assume this was fate, I included this link.

  • Galaxy Reading Room
Once, a long time ago, I submitted a story to an online critique group, which was taken over by another company. They kept my story up there, God bless them, so I figured I'd link to them just because I'm a nice guy.

      AUTHORS
  • Elaine Corvidae
Unlike many of the authors on my page, I know Elaine Corvidae only in passing. In fact, we'd been on the same list for quite some time and never exchanged so much as a greetings. When I posted information on an Author Interview from Hell, she went to the page, saw the interview and really liked it. She emailed me and because of this, I went to her web page, which I really liked. Now you can like it too.

  • Natalie R. Collins
I met Natalie by chance. Well not pure chance. She has recently taken over as Editor-in-Chief of Blue Iris Journal, where my monthly column Sahara Ice resides. Fortunately, Ms. Collins has impeccable taste as she happens to like the column enough to keep it running. So I trundled off to see her webpage (as I'd already heard about her book from other lists I'm on) and I knew then and there, I just had to add a link. So here it is.

  • Patrick Welch
What can I say about Patrick Welch (in public) that I haven't said a thousand times already? Not much, I suppose. I've already said how much I enjoy his books (ad infinitum, ad naseum) and I've already ordered you to read Westchester Station, The Thirteenth Magician, the Casebook of Doakes and Haig and The Body Shop. And have you listened? That's it, I'm sending you all to your rooms. On a more serious note, this is an author well worth acquainting yourself with. This URL is a start. Use it. Now. Before it's too late.

  • Kate Saundby
Kate is one of my oldest writing friends. We've been through at least three e-publishers together and she made me add a sex scene to a book I didn't think needed it. On the other hand, I made her put a battle scene in hers, so I guess we're even. Anyway, Kate's site, Realm of Nublis, should be one of your main stops if you're touring for well known e-published authors.

  • Marlies Bugmann
Through her art, writing and illustrations, Marlies Bugmann promotes the unique Tasmanian avian, fauna and flora to the world. Nowhere else on this planet can be found what Tasmania has to offer. I now know this firsthand, since I've moved here. And Marlies isn't just a gifted artist, she's a great person too, so take a few minutes to appreciate her talent firsthand.

  • Lisa J. DuMond
I don't remember how I accidentally stumbled upon Ms. DuMond's page, but I'm glad I did. There, in addition to her bio, you'll find the first three chapters and a synopsis of her novel. I found that her writing contained a wry wit that appealed to me. Certainly worth checking out.

  • Gracie McKeever
If you like your romance with an edge, look no further than Gracie McKeever. Her contemporary, paranormal and young adult romances are something special, so if that's your genre of choice, you owe it to yourself to check out her site. Gracie and I go waaaaaaaay back, but even if we didn't this blurb wouldn't be much different. Truly an e-author of distinction.

  • Kate Thornton
Kate Thornton is a science fiction, mystery and occassional fantasy writer. After reading her story Neighborhood Cleanup, I sent her one of the few fan letters I have ever written. This is one author you're not going to want to miss. Check out her websight.

  • Stephen Goldin
Stephen Goldin is the author of numerous SF classics, including one of my favorite books of all time, The Eternity Brigade. I kid you not when I tell you this is a must read. The Eternity Brigade is everything SF should be.

  • Jack L. Chalker
Mr. Chalker is one of my favorite authors of all time. The Soulrider books were my favorite of his work, but one can not think of him without calling to mind the Well of Souls series, which I also enjoy immensely. I also enjoyed the Four Lords of the Diamond series. In fact, it is safe to say that I have never regretted purchasing a Jack Chalker book and I have purchased them all.

  • Nancy Etchemendy
My love affair with the works of Ms. Etchemendy began with her short story Saints and Martyrs, which I read last fall in the Magazine of Fantasy and SF. The story literally brought tears to my eyes. I have since read other works by her and I encourage you all to do the same. She has a story in the June issue of Fantasy and SF as well. Her websight contains, among other things, a complete bibliography.

  • Susan's Silly Page
Do it with Alacrity! The original Alacrity. That's Susan Sterling. This is a great family page, updated all the time, including info about the author, her family, friends and her soon to become famous Rants. Much like my own View from the Parapet, Susan's rants are funny, entertaining and about damned time!

  • Duncan Long
Though he is a professional writer, it was his art that first led me to his page. Author, artist, musician and God knows what else. I have often said of him that it seems unfair that one man should have so much talent. Then again, I'm glad he does.

  • Jonathan Fesmire
Another semipro author, Jonathan is a writer of fantasy tales. What first brought me to his page is his excellent Introduction to Fantasy, which may be accessed from his web page or from my other favorites listed below.

  • Astrid Cooper
Ms. Cooper is another fine writer, who you simply just have to visit. Her home page is beautifully done and after only a short time there, I felt as if I've actually met her. Well, technically I did, if you count meeting someone via email. Take a few moments and check out her page. You won't be dissappointed.

  • Gary Allen
"Two ancient noble families clash, oblivious that their feud is bringing to life an ancient wildblood prophecy of doom. While the West plunges into civil war, a beautiful outcast must find the hero destined to save them all."

      OTHER FAVORITES
  • DirectoryScifi.com
A nifty and fairly comprehensive SF search engine, well worth the look.

  • SciFi Top 100
Looking for a science fiction related link, then this is the place for you. Think of it as links-r-us. It's a great place to explore all the Science Fiction offerings on the net.

  • Novel Art
Now hear this, now hear this. If fantasy art is what you crave, you absolutely MUST visit this page. This is the homepage of artist Linda Gruber. Not only is this a well designed and well executed page, but it also showcases some of the finest fantasy art that I have ever seen! Don't take my word for it. We're talking pro quality work here, so don't miss it!

  • 3D Alchemy Art Graphics by David Camp
When I say that there are a lot of wonderful and magical images on this page, I am severely understating the matter. Mr. Camp's range is phenomenal and his images display a level of craftmanship that can be admired on many levels. If you love computer generated science fiction art, you owe it to yourself to check it out!

  • Eggplant Productions
A novel concept for an e-zine, centered around the question of the week. All stories and articles pertain to the question, but what I love most is the message board, where people can have an earnest discussion of ideas. Great stuff!

  • Land of Enchantment
This is a wonderful place that no self respecting fantasy fan or webmaster/webmistress should miss. In addition to pictures and backgrounds and web help, is poetry, music, a babyfood cookbook and more. If you love fantasy, art, music, or just life, make sure you stop by, sign the guestbook and say hello. You will be happy you did!

  • The Worlds of Fantasy
This page is owned and run by Doyle Eldon Wilmoth Jr., who first contacted me after reading Reflections of a Recovering Servant. The link he placed for me on his webpage is nothing short of wonderful. It's people like Doyle that keep me placing my work on the web, where it is accessible to everyone. After spending a bit of time surfing his page, I can state succintly that it is a well done site, loaded with goodies for anyone interested in fantasy, particularly fledgling writers.

  • FSF Discussion List
The highlight of this page is a SF and Fantasy discussion list, to which I've just subscribed, but there is also much more. Episode guides, TV and movie theme tunes, book reviews, rejected Scripts from popular TV series and of course... links. Definitely worth a looksee.

  • Magic Dragon Multimedia
This site is so huge, I can't even begin to describe it. Though in just over two years, it has received over 5.5 million hits. It is a page of links and information that is, in my humble opinion, unrivaled. Just one thing. If you plan on checking it out, plan on spending some time there. I know I did.

  • Speculative Vision
This page is subtitled The Science Fiction and Fantasy Resource Network and it is just that. Links to authors, publishers, bookstores, artists, webzines, TV and film and more, this is the place to find out about other places. A well designed, well executed resource.

  • The McMillan Family
If their webpage is any indication, The McMillan Family have to be the nicest people alive. Certainly the email I've received from them would support this hypothesis. I browsed into them by a pleasant accident and have been returning ever since. Most of the people that visit my page would be interested in the fantasy and dragon links, but there's far more to this family than meets the eye. A place for the whole family, so make sure you take 'em.

  • The Art of Jonathan Earl Bowser
This is a beautifully designed page, with images that sing. I can't really put it any other way. If you love fantasy art, then you really must visit this page.
